I can successfully buy Kindle books from the amazon.co.jp store. I have many of them, and I can read them on my cellphone with Kindle for Android.

I want to be able to read the books on my computer (I have Windows and OSX) or my US Kindle (but would prefer not to register Kindle with different account and lose all my existing data—see below).

There is seemingly no Windows/OSX app for Japanese Kindle Store books. The Amazon.com app says my Japanese Amazon.co.jp account doesn't exist when I try to use it on my computer!

So my only option is to strip the DRM off the books just so I can read them even in the Kindle app on my laptop!

The PC/OSX app will not let me connect to my Amazon.co.jp account to sync the books to my computer, so I can't use Calibre that way to strip DRM.
The app on my phone does not have the PID, so I can't get those to strip the DRM that way.

I do have a US Kindle with my US books on it. I have a lot of bookmarks and highlighted passages and vocab words in the books on my Kindle (plus I often sync web clippings and stuff to that Kindle), so I would rather not change my Kindle from US to Japan region and have everything deleted off the Kindle unless this is my only option. Then I guess I'd switch to Japanese whenever I buy a book, strip the DRM, and then switch back to US and put everything back on the device.
All I want to do is read my legitimately purchased Japanese Kindle books without having to stare at a damn tiny-ass cell phone screen and drain the battery.
